Part 1: Performance / Art as action
Artist/Hero can be a lonely job. You stand out in a crowd. Some people find you ridiculous. Others appear angry or afraid of you. It isn’t an easy job, but it’s an honest and socially important one. In The Superhero Project, we find the artist (as hero) performing by going to work in different cities around the world. His job is to transform experience, shift the perspective of other citizens and help bring out the hero in their hearts. His superpower? The ability to help you imagine yours and become a hero. Financial crisis does not make this work easier, but our hero will not be defeated. In an almost militant manner, he carries on.
The house of Adam Wallacavage- to me Adam is a person who live the way they are as an artist, there in no fine line between the two. As a photographer, Adams work is always as if you were there, witnessing the event, to visit his house and studio (last time I was there was 1999)-is like witnessing the work from where it is being made- a surreal experience of fact and fiction…. before dead animals were cool adam was living with them.

14,700 pictures and 680 video’s to look through- Im so amazed while looking back at some of the images how close I was able to get to people and how something so simple (like putting on a mask and cape) will open people up and reveal a bit of their life story…makes editing really hard, because to me almost all the pictures say something and if a picture says 1000 words….then I have to listen to 1,470,000 words…. not to sound poetic, because I know about poetry as much as I know about editing- just about ZERO.
